EPRDF Executive Committee to hold 2nd regular session

The Executive Committee of Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) will hold on Monday its second regular session, the Office of the Front told ENA in a statement on Sunday.

The committee will review the performance of the first quarter of 2002 EC and put the directions forward for planned activities.

It also review the preparation of the Front for the upcoming national election .It also put forward ways and directions to make the election democratic and peaceful.

The Office said the executive committee will also assess the development activities in regional states with especial emphasis on rural development activities.

The executive committee will evaluate the status of the expansion of best practices of agricultural activities and will set forward directions, it said.

Accordingly, the executive committee will deliberate on the activities carried out in the areas of soil and water conservation, natural resource protection and irrigation development.

The office said the executive committee would also review the activities to ensure good governance. It will sort out the strong and weaknesses of the implementation of the ongoing Civil service reform and put forth priorities to be addressed.

The executive committee appraises the implementation of education quality package and health extension program and will pass resolution on priority issues of the sectors.

The executive committee will also review the preparation of the Front for the upcoming 2002 EC national election and will outline implementation directions to make the election peaceful and democratic.(ENA)
