Members of a political force operating in the name of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) handed over themselves to the government in an organized manner.

The members who were operating under a force called Southern Zone and who gave themselves up to the government included the Front's Deputy Military Commander and Leader of the Southern Zone as well as central committee members

The leaders and members of made the decision following their discussion on the issue in subject.

They attributed the reason for giving up the front to the split between the leaders of the front and the divide rule policy of the front based on ethnicity and religion, among others.

OLF Polit Bureau Member, Lucho Burbura, who gave himself up to the government, has served as OLF's Military Force Commander and Head of Foreign Affairs and Information with the Front at various times. Asmara was one of his residential areas while he was abroad.

Abdeta Besere on his part had served as head of Southern Zone Force with the OLF.

They said the issue of the OLF is over since its agenda obsolete. (ENA)
