| JAPAN TO SUPPORT AFRICA POSITION AT COPENHAGEN CLIMATE SUMMITJapanese Ambassador to Ethiopia Kinichi Komano says Tokyo will support the position of Africa on environment issues at the Global Climate Change Summit now being held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The ambassador said here Thursday that Japan would do everything possible to see that the conference adopted decisions deemed helpful to Africa in mitigating the adverse effects of global warming. The ambassador, who made the statement at an event marking the 20th Coronation anniversary of Japanese Emperor Akihito, said his country wished to further strengthen relations with Ethiopia. Japan has been assisting Ethiopia in its development endeavours and he recalled that Japan had provided a grant of fertilizer worth 100 million Birr to Ethiopia.
